Why Kelowna Homeowners Need Radon Testing & Mitigation
Protect Your Home and Loved Ones
Nothing matters more than ensuring your family is safe from the risks of Radon. Identifying the problem early — and reducing it promptly — is the most effective way to protect your household.
Lower the Risk of Lung Cancer
Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers in Canada. Because it has no smell, colour, or taste, it can easily go unnoticed while posing a serious danger to anyone living in the home.
Backed by Health Canada
Health Canada advises that every homeowner should test their property at least once every two years. As certified C-NRPP experts, we’re equipped to guide you through testing and mitigation whenever you need support.
Affordable & Straightforward
Radon testing is both simple and cost-effective. Set the test, wait for your results, and if levels are high, mitigation is as easy as installing a Radon reduction system. It’s a quick, practical solution for a healthier home.

TEST
Radon Testing
Testing for Radon is essential — discovering elevated Radon levels and addressing them early can quite literally protect your family’s long-term health. The most reliable way to determine how much Radon is in your home is through a long-term test, which runs anywhere from 91 days up to 12 months using either a test kit or a digital monitor.
For real estate needs, we also provide short-term Radon testing, deploying a commercial-grade monitor for a minimum of 96 hours, following strict C-NRPP guidelines.
Once you receive your results, our team can walk you through the next steps if mitigation is required. Radon testing is strongly recommended by Health Canada — it’s simple, affordable, and extremely effective.

FIX
Radon Mitigation
Radon mitigation is the process of reducing harmful indoor Radon by installing a specialized Radon reduction system, commonly known as Active Soil Depressurization (ASD) or Sub-Slab Depressurization. These systems safely pull Radon from beneath your home’s foundation and vent it outside, significantly lowering indoor exposure.
Most mitigation installations in Kelowna can be completed in just one day. Our systems typically reduce Radon levels by 95% or more, giving your family a healthier and safer living environment.
We’re committed to delivering exceptional customer service along with industry-leading results.

What Radon Really Is
Naturally Occurring & Hazardous
Radon is a radioactive gas that forms naturally when uranium in soil and rock breaks down. It has no smell, colour, or taste, making it impossible to detect without proper testing. Research shows that communities across Western Canada — including many regions in British Columbia — experience some of the highest Radon exposure levels worldwide.
Radon can enter homes through even the smallest openings: cracks in foundations, gaps around pipes, floor drains, sump pits, and unfinished areas. Homes in colder climates face additional risk because sealed windows and doors trap Radon indoors for long periods.
Health Canada recommends testing every home every two years, particularly if there has been construction, soil disruption, or major ground movement within several kilometres of the property.
Health Impacts of Radon
Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in Canada, responsible for roughly 16% of all cases, or about 3,300 deaths annually. It is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), meaning its link to cancer is well-established.
Prolonged exposure to high Radon concentrations damages lung tissue over time. According to BC Lung, radon testing in the Okanagan Valley has shown that more than 20% of homes in areas such as Kelowna exceed recommended radon levels, with some communities, including Peachland and Lake Country, reporting rates as high as 50%.
Children may be at even greater risk. Because they breathe more rapidly than adults, they can inhale more Radon particles relative to their size, increasing the likelihood of long-term cellular damage that can contribute to future cancer development.
